Being audit ready is not something that just happens overnight. It takes time, commitment from all levels of management and adequate training for all food handlers. It also requires a very strong internal audit process to be functional within your food business. If you don’t have someone constantly checking compliance, human nature will kick-in with people generally prioritising activities based on their own needs and wants. HACCP Mentor can help you to be audit-ready by completing a thorough internal audit of your policies, procedures, records and implementation.
Undertaking internal audits can be a lengthy process. We can review your documented HACCP food safety system against your nominated certification standard. We check to see if your food business has all of the correct documents, forms, policies and procedures documented.
A full internal audit report is issued based on the documented system from a qualified food safety compliance auditor. You will be required to send us all documents (electronic format) and the name of the nominated certification standard.
In return, we will provide you with:
- A review of your documented procedures against your nominated certification standard.
- A check to see that your documented policies and procedures include all of the certification requirements.
- A check that your monitoring forms capture the correct information as required by the certification standard.
- A full internal audit report which references audit evidence.
We do not provide you with a review of how well your documents have been implemented within your business. We also do not provide a review on your monitoring records to see if they have been completed and filled out correctly. If you require this service, please refer to information on Internal Audit services.
Are you thinking about becoming certified to a GFSI recognised standard? Do you want to know where your HACCP, food safety and quality compliance is at? A GAP audit is an ideal offer to benchmark your current practices against where you need to be. Allow HACCP Mentor to provide you information on how to achieve full compliance with your desired food safety standard.
Your approved food suppliers can have a critical impact on your food business. Although you cannot completely affect what they do behind closed doors, you can, however, implement a 2nd party audit program to lessen your raw material risk. HACCP Mentor can complete these customised audits on your behalf and provide you with a full compliance report.
During the external audit process, corrective action requests (otherwise known as CARs) can be raised by the auditor against your business. If you are not sure what information should be provided to the auditor to rectify and close out the CAR, we can help you.
You will be required to send us a copy of the corrective action requests (CARs) raised including standard, clause number, non-conformance and any other advisory about the non-conformance.
In return, we will provide you with:
- A proposed corrective action to submit to the auditor for closeout.
- Guidance on the actual evidence to supply to the auditor
We do not provide you with the ‘actual evidence’ to provide to the auditor. If you need evidence developed, please refer to our HACCP consultancy services.
